Your comfort zone

Hello, hope whoever reading had a nice weekend. I wanted to share a minor positive I had this weekend. I decided to go to the FIFA fan festival by myself to watch the England game. When I woke up saturday, there was nothing I would have rather not done then drive to Toronto and be amongst thousands of people. Old me would have caved and not went. Despite my grievances, I went anyway.

It was alright, but definitely something you normally would not go alone for. I really don’t like crowds, but I just remained calm and went anyway. Now I would be lying if I said I stayed the whole time, I ended up leaving at halftime as there ended up being about 50 000 people there and it was a bit too much on my own. Nonetheless, I was happy in myself for going. On the way home, I did have a moment of weakness and got upset, but what can you do, at least I am trying which is better than nothing. When I got home, I drove my friends to and from a concert then went to sleep. My friend Bozo and Kate gifted me this really cool England scarf as a thank you for helping them move so that was nice, I like to collect things like that. Sunday I just had soccer, nothing crazy.

Anyways, I just wanted to touch briefly on stepping outside your comfort zone as I have found myself having to do that alot lately. It takes alot of courage to do that for anybody. Another instance where I did this was by asking to join a connection I made’s campaign called Hope Can’t Wait - a petition being formally presented in Parliament in less than a month. If passed, I would assist in helping create a national suicide prevention strategy. I was nervous to ask to join on, but happy I did. I am able to work on something that would truly benefit people, which was my goal from all of this. This site, my petition etc started all this. Pretty cool thing. With that being said, it is okay to seclude yourself with what you know, but every now and then try your best to try something new, you never know what could happen.

I am not sure how many people read this but if you have, please share how your week/weekend went and maybe one thing you are going to try this week that you normally wouldn’t do.

Have a nice day
